Salt Water Fly Fishing

Michigan Fly Fishing Club

Bonefish Round-Up Program

I always wanted to fly fish for bonefish in the tropics but don’t know where to start!”

A beginning salt water fly angler faces many options and most can be time-consuming and expenses. And it can take years to become proficient at fly fishing for bonefish without proper instruction.

The Michigan Fly Fishing Club’s Salt Water Committee has started the Bonefish Round-Up Program which quickly teaches the techniques of bonefish stalking. The Round-Up is held on Mayaguana Island in the deep southern Bahamas and is limited to four (4) anglers per week. This program features five (5) days of instructional bonefishing tactics focusing on bonefish behavior, tides and their affect, stalking techniques, flies, related tackle and salt water snap casting.

The Bonefish Round-Up program runs all year long. FFF chapters are encouraged to form their own groups and then contact the Salt Water Committee to select dates based on favorable weekly tides.

Cost is 1995.00 which includes 6 nights lodging, 5 days of instructional fishing, all meals, transportation to/from fishing areas, use of canoes and related equipment. Cost also includes charter flight to/from Nassau to Mayaguana.
